Car 1 of the Mark IV Red train is by far the most traveled of any of the Mark IV's. After retiring from Walt Disney World it spent a good many years in a warehouse in Kissimmee until it was auctioned off on eBay a few years back. While it appeared as though it was going to spend the rest of its life in a peaceful field in Georgia this wasn't to be. The train was moved to Mouse Surplus in Orlando to help promote the booming Disney Park artifact business. While back in the Central Florida area the Red train for the first time in almost twenty years once again welcomed visitors. A platform was built and visitors could step inside and reminisce of past trips on the monorail. The front cab was even open to visitors allowing a rare look at the control console of this now one of a kind train. The train was even taken on a trip to Michigan to support a fundraiser. With a move to new larger facilities the train was moved to a new indoor location protecting it from the elements. Current reports indicate that the train is on the move again and was spotted in its owners state of Georgia. Is it returning here for good or is there an alternate destination only time will tell. Whatever the case may be we hope that it is continued to be well taken care of and hopefully will be accepting more visitors sometime in the future.
